O.D. Davey is an artist, songwriter and carer from the UK. He was born in Norway in 1987 and grew up in rural Scotland before spending his teenage years in a small town in Essex, England.
The music he makes takes the form of ballads and love songs. Due to the solitary, home-recorded nature of the music, its pallet of sound is utilitarian, each record a reflection of its time, place, resources and those persons currently closest to him, both lyrically and acoustically.
Catgut Tape was the first official LP by Davey, released on Tomlab in 2015. After teenage years of self-distributed CDRs, under pseudonym or another, it is a collection of his choice of those recordings. It is a formative picture of where Davey came from and an introduction to his new work.
Some Waking Woman, the follow up album will see the daylight this fall 2017. Besides a much more worked out production O. D. Davey has collaborated with Graw Böckler on a video project that will bring very intimate videos for every song of the album.
